Notary Services

Notary service requires the presence of each signer or oath-taker with valid identification. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • California driver’s license
  • California ID card issued by California Department of Motor Vehicles
  • U.S. passport
  • Foreign passport stamped by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
  • Driver’s license or ID card issued by another U.S. state
  • Mexican or Canadian driver’s license
  • U.S. Military I.D.

Please note the following guidelines when using these services:

  1. Call for availability and appointments.
  2. All notary services will be available Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  3. There is a $10.00 fee for each signature.
  4. The following documents will not be notarized by UCSB Notaries Public:
    1. Last Wills and Testaments (should be done by an attorney)
    2. Certifications of birth, death and marriage certificates (should be done by the agency issuing the certificate)
  5. Ensure documents have notarial wording or you know what type of notarization you require. The notary cannot advise as to what is needed.
  6. The notary does not draft documents or provide documents to be notarized.
  7. The notary retains the right to refuse to notarize any document.
