Instructions for UCSB Film Permit Application

This film permit application is required for any still photo shoot, motion picture, or television production on University of California, Santa Barbara property. Motion picture and television production include cinematography, videotaping and other similar processes. It has been designed to assist you in relating the information necessary to process your application. Your cooperation in answering the questions in as much detail as possible will assist us in handling your request as expeditiously as possible. Sufficient detail should be included to avoid any misunderstandings and the possibility of revocation due to performance of acts not described in the application. The information you provide will be the basis for a Film Permit if one is approved and executed by the University.

Please note the following restrictions and guidelines applicable to film/photo permit applications:

• A complete, signed original application must be received a minimum of 10-business days prior to the start of filming/shooting (including set-up). Requests with less notification may not be honored.
  
  
• All UCSB parking fees are applicable and not included.
  
  
• A copy of your insurance certificate(s) must be on file, naming the Regents of the University of California as an additional insured on a separate endoresement and meeting the minimum requirements of the University.
  
  
• You must submit all other permits necessary to have your application reviewed.
  
  
• A $250 non-refundable application fee is required at the time you submit your application. Checks must be made payable to The Regents of the University of California.
  
  
• The University of California has the right to deny any request.
